The Power of Networking as a Christian Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurship is an exciting yet challenging journey—one filled with victories, struggles, and countless lessons. But here’s the truth: you are not meant to do this alone.

As Christian entrepreneurs, we are part of something bigger than just business. We are called to build relationships, support one another, and encourage fellow believers in their God-given callings. Networking isn’t just about growing your business—it’s about building Kingdom connections that strengthen your faith and mission.

Whether you’re just starting out, finding your footing, or already thriving, surrounding yourself with other Christian entrepreneurs can be a game-changer for your business and your walk with Christ. Let’s talk about why networking is important, how to connect with other like-minded entrepreneurs, and how your testimony can be a powerful tool for impacting lives.

Why Networking With Other Christian Entrepreneurs Matters

1. Strength in Community

The Bible makes it clear: we are not meant to walk alone.

📖 “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17

In business, just like in faith, we grow stronger when we surround ourselves with people who push us toward God’s purpose. Networking connects you with people who can share wisdom, encouragement, and insights from their own experiences—helping you avoid pitfalls and stay on track.

2. Learning From Those Who’ve Gone Before You

There’s a reason Proverbs is filled with advice on seeking wisdom. Learning from those who’ve already succeeded can save you years of trial and error.

📖 “The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.” — Proverbs 12:15

Connect with Christian business owners who have been where you are. Their journey, mistakes, and triumphs can offer guidance you won’t find in a business book or a random YouTube video.

3. Encouragement During Tough Seasons

Let’s be real: entrepreneurship isn’t always easy. There will be days when you question if you’re on the right path, if your business will ever take off, or if you should just quit. That’s when having a strong network of faith-filled entrepreneurs can make all the difference.

They can remind you of God’s promises, pray with you, and encourage you to press on when the enemy tries to discourage you.

📖 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Our Testimony: How Networking (and God) Carried Us Through

Our journey into entrepreneurship started… well, interestingly.

I worked at a helicopter manufacturing company for about 3 ½ years. Even though it didn’t end well, I knew that job was a blessing from God. He used me as a vessel to witness to other men in that facility.

One key moment came during my first department transfer. I went from a comfortable environment to working with a group of big, burly men who had a mouth on them. At first, I felt a bit out of place. But instead of conforming, I stayed consistent—working hard, speaking well of others, and just being present without compromising my faith.

Then one day, one of my coworkers looked at me and said:
“You know, there’s something different about you. There’s something that stands out, and I can’t put my finger on it, man.”

At first, I wasn’t sure what he meant… and then it hit me. Duh—it’s because I have Christ in me. I was unknowingly representing Jesus in my workplace just by the way I carried myself.

A few days later, I wore an old state band championship t-shirt (yep, I was a marching band nerd), and that same coworker pointed at it and said, “That’s what it is! You’re a musician!”

I just laughed to myself and thought, Sure, that’s what it is.

But the truth was, it wasn’t music. It was Christ.

Fast forward a few years, and I got laid off from that job. The timing was rough—we had just moved into a new place two weeks prior. Suddenly, we had to figure things out fast.

Olivia was working as a barista, and we started picking up random side gigs just to keep the bills paid. Eventually, I found a part-time job, knowing it wasn’t going to be long-term. We needed something else.

That’s when we stepped fully into entrepreneurship. I did exterior cleaning while working part-time, and we both started diving into book publishing, copy-writing, website development, SEO, course creation—you name it. We tested everything until we found what worked.

But here’s the thing: we didn’t have a lot of “Christian resources” to guide us.
Most business advice out there didn’t align with our faith, morals, or values.

And that’s a big part of why we started Nicola Collective—because we saw the need for a hub where Christian entrepreneurs could connect, learn, and grow.

If we had a stronger network back then, the journey would have been so much easier. That’s why we encourage you—don’t go at this alone.

How to Network With Christian Entrepreneurs

1. Connect With Entrepreneurs at Different Stages

Don’t just reach out to successful Christian business owners. Connect with:
✅ Those ahead of you (mentors who can guide you)
✅ Those at the same stage (peers who understand your struggles)
✅ Those just starting out (because you can pour into them, too)

Each of these connections adds value to your journey in a unique way.

2. Get Involved in Your Church Community

Your pastors, small groups, and church events are some of the best places to find like-minded entrepreneurs. The church itself is a network, and many business owners would love to connect and share wisdom.

3. Join Faith-Based Entrepreneurial Groups

There are Christian business conferences, online communities, and networking events designed for people just like you. A few ways to find them:

  • Facebook groups for Christian entrepreneurs
  • LinkedIn groups focused on faith-driven business
  • Local Christian business networking events

4. Be Open About Your Testimony

Sharing your story—the good, the bad, and the lessons learned—not only helps others but also builds genuinerelationships. When people hear how God has moved in your life, it strengthens connections in a way that surface-level networking never can.

5. Offer Value First

Instead of just asking for help, offer help. Share your skills, recommend resources, or simply listen. Building authenticrelationships always leads to greater opportunities.

Final Thoughts: Your Network is Part of Your Calling

If there’s one thing we want you to take from this, it’s this: Your network matters.

The people you surround yourself with will either push you toward your calling or pull you away from it.

So don’t be afraid to reach out, connect, and share your testimony. Because you never know who needs to hear it.
